Why should I remove any metal or jewelry before a Reiki Treatment?
Reiki is energy and metal conducts energy. It is possible that wearing large metal pieces will absorb more of the Reiki energy than the participant. This would simply reduce the intensity and duration of the Reiki’s effectiveness so it’s best to remove any metals before your appointment.
What is the difference between in- Person Reiki and Virtual/ Distance Reiki?
There is no difference between in- Person Reiki and Virtual/Distance Reiki in terms of energy healing. The experience may differ, you may be more inclined to fall asleep or relax in your home as opposed to a clinic setting. The potency of the Reiki energy is consistent and equal for an in person or virtual appointment.
How do I prepare for an in- Person Reiki Treatment? And what should I expect?
Reiki is a fully clothed treatment experience, it is not a physical massage. It is recommended that you remove any metal jewelry, wear comfortable clothing and an additional layer as some clients have reported temperature changes during a treatment. You may also experience tingling or movement in your arms and legs, see vivid colours or images due to enhanced tuition, feel deeply relaxed, fall asleep or feel very energized. Everyone’s experience is different. For best results come with an open heart to receive your treatment. The Reiki energy will continue to work long after your treatment is finished.
How do I prepare for a Distance Reiki Treatment? And what should I expect?
The preparation is the same as an in person treatment, with the addition of finding a quiet, distraction free comfortable place to sit or lay down for the duration of the treatment. A water bottle nearby and a blanket to manage the temperature shifts.
Is there anything I should do after my Reiki Treatment?
Yes, I recommend drinking extra water throughout the remainder of the day to facilitate the flushing of toxins released during the treatment. An epsom salt bath will also improve the after cleansing effect of Reiki. Focusing on self care, grounding by walking in nature or meditating and journaling your experience can have a profound impact.
How often should I have a Reiki treatment?
This is completely individual and would be determined after the first session. It is entirely dependent on your goals, and what is being resolved. Acute illness may be resolved in one or two sessions over a month for one person, for another individual it may be multiple sessions a week over a shorter duration. There is no standard of practice for Reiki that “requires” you to complete so many sessions over a specific period of time at the onset. This is all determined after your first session.
Can I request Distance Reiki for another party?
No. In order to maintain the high integrity of the Reiki treatment, permission must be granted by the recipient prior to a Reiki treatment commencing.
Is Reiki covered by my employee health insurance?
Some employee health insurance companies will cover Reiki Treatments under the extended health benefits or wellness account portion of your benefits. It’s best to speak directly with your insurance provider to determine if your treatment will qualify. Rainforest Reiki and Meditation does not submit invoices to insurance companies.
